Tips for Prevention of Pimples
Cleanse the face
The first step to preventing pimples is to cleanse your face every day with a gentle cleanser. The cleanser should be free from any kind of chemicals and should be non-comedogenic (does not clog pores). You can use a mild cleanser or an exfoliating gel that does not cause irritation.
Limit makeup
Makeup tends to clog pores and lead to more breakouts. If you don’t want acne-free skin, then limit your makeup use or completely give up using it altogether!
Don’t squeeze your pimples
Squeezing or poking at pimples can cause them to get bigger and more inflamed, which leads to scarring.
Instead, use an over-the-counter product like benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid to treat acne. Use it twice daily as directed on the package label and apply sunscreen every day to prevent further breakouts.
Wash your skin regularly
Wash your skin regularly with a mild cleanser to remove oil from your skin that can clog pores and cause breakouts. You should wash twice a day (no more) because too much washing can dry out your skin, making it prone to irritation and blemishes. Use warm water instead of hot water, hot water opens up pores and makes them more susceptible to clogging with dirt and oil after washing.
Avoid touching your face
Don’t touch your face unless absolutely necessary during the day to reduce bacteria transfer from other parts of your body onto your face, especially if you’ve been sweating or touching things like public transportation handles or door knobs that other people have touched before you do so as well.
Wash twice a day (no more)
If you wash your face more than twice a day you’re stripping it of all its natural oils, which is going to make it much harder for your skin to fight off bacteria. So wash your face twice a day and that should be enough.
Use a mild cleanser
You want to find something that’s gentle on your skin but still gets the job done. Look for products that are labeled “non-comedogenic,” which means they won’t clog pores. You’ll also want to avoid products with synthetic fragrances or alcohol because those ingredients can irritate sensitive skin even further.
The best choice is an oil-free cleanser made with natural ingredients like coconut oil or aloe vera gel, these will gently cleanse without drying out your skin or causing inflammation.
Eat healthy foods
Don’t eat fried foods or foods that are high in sugar. These foods can make your skin more prone to breakouts.
Drink plenty of water
It also helps flush out your system and keeps your skin hydrated.
Shower after exercising
Sweat can clog pores and lead to acne breakouts, especially if you don’t shower right away after sweating profusely during exercise. Showering helps clear away sweat and dirt from your face, which can prevent pimples from forming on your skin later in the day or week.
